Hello, I am 20 and my dad was diagnosed just over a month ago with stage 4 esophageal cancer that has spread to his lungs, liver and lymph nodes. It came as such a shock to our family as he was so fit and healthy and did everything he could to live the best lifestyle possible.
He has not been able to start treatment as soon as we had hoped as he had a blocked bile duct in his liver, but he had an operation, recovered and has received the news he will start chemo next Tuesday.
The point of this post is to see what everyone’s experiences were with the side effects of the first chemo session and what can be done to help the person at all. I am struggling quite a lot at the moment as there is obviously nothing I can do and I am very frightened of the future.
Thank you to anyone that read this!
