Worried wife

Hi all,

I am really worried about my husband. He has chronic myeloid leukaemia (which is under control), last week in a matter of hours he had a lump come up on his neck, after a bit of a sore throat that morning! We went to the hospital at his consultants request and they put him on antibiotics which have had no effect on the lump what so ever. Has anyone else had a similar experience?? And was it just a lump? Was it painful? The hospital seem to be clueless!! Would like a bit of reassurance that it could be nothing!!

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Jessiebubbles.

I'm sorry that a lump has appeared on your husband's neck and that the antibiotics haven't helped.

Hopefully your husband's team can get to the bottom of this soon but in the meantime I just wanted to put you in touch with a few members who have experience of CML. [@57Newlands]‍ and [@chrissyliz]‍ have this diagnosis and [@Melonie]‍ is supporting her husband on his journey with CML so hopefully they will pop by when they can to share their experiences with you now I've mentioned them in this post.

You may find some answers on the CML Support website. I'm not sure if you're already aware of this website, but if not, it is one of the biggest online patient support communities for those affected by Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia so you may find others on there that have had something similar to what your husband has at the moment, so do have a look around on there when you can.

I hope this has helped provide some support and reassurance for you Jessie and that the lump doesn't turn out to be anything sinister.

    Kind regards,
