lung cancer terminal

hi i am new to the group and have been reading everyones stories i would like to share mine with everyone my partner was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in august 2017 he completed 4 weeks raditherapy they couldnt operate because of other health problems 2 previous strokes hw was told after 5 months that his tumour had shrunk by 50 per cent we were delighted at this but 4 months later he was then diagnosed with skin cancer another 4 weeks radiotherapy 4 weeks after finishing his treatment another scan shows his lung cancer has returned with a vengence and now been told he has 6 to 9 months to live he is detiorating rapidly and its an awful sight to watch him waste away he thinks by having raditherapy this has helped his cancer spread has anyone else ever been told this could be the case thanks

  • Welcome to the forum jtina01 although I'm sorry to read about what your partner has been through over the last year or so.

I can't begin to imagine how difficult it must be watching someone you love go through this but I want you to know that you are not alone. Many members here on the forum have also had to embark on this journey so will know what you're going through at the moment and hopefully you'll hear from them soon.

Do make sure you and your partner have a chat with your medical team to discuss anything that is playing on your mind about the treatment he has received as they are in the best position to answer your questions.

Best wishes to you both at this difficult time.
