Dad has stage 4 advanced oropharyngeal cancer

Hi everyone,

I'm new to all this. Dad was diagnosed with oropharyngeal advanced stage 4 cancer a few weeks back now and he has to have a PET scan this Friday and then see the oncologist next Tuesday. They have already told him it's inoperable. They have found 2 nodules in his lungs.

I am feeling totally numb and I am unable to cry. I really Don't know whats going to happen. I have searched for similar cases on the internet on prognosis and what's going to happen without much luck.

I am totally scared plus I live 120 miles away from him and feel like I can't really help.

I am not well myself and am due to start a new job next Monday which I am frightened as I don't know what's going to happen with dad.

Does anyone else have similar story or they can shed light on the situation. I have a constant dread on what is going to happen.

Thanks for reading.
