Immunotherapy

Hi

My husband's bladder was removed three years ago but it has metastised into his lung.  One course of chemo two years ago and then again last year with the platinum.  Seemed to be OK for six months but has now grown and another one shown on his scan.  Treatment now is immunotherapy with Atezolizumab and he had his first injection this week.  There is so little information online about this so we really don't know how to feel about it.  Just hoping someone can give us a bit of hope or encouragement.  Good luck to all of you out there xx

  • Welcome to the forum otherhalf although I'm sorry to read about your husband's situation.

    We have some general information about immunotherapy on our website but I just wanted to give you our cancer nurses telephone number as it may help to have a chat with them about this combined course of treatment. Their lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and can be contacted on 0808 800 4040 so do give them a call when you can as they will do all that they can to help.

    Hopefully other members who have found themselves on this journey will reply soon but it may be worth typing some keywords in the blue 'search forum' box above to see if you can find other discussions about this that you can join in on.
