Mantle cell

Hi mum was diagnosed on 2/7/18.   Had 1 go at rchop which docs advised wasnt working.  Too advanced.   She has been in out hosp n we were told mum would have 2mths left.   That time is due up in a wk.   But since being discharged mum is doing great her breathing appetite good mobility good. I know sounds stupid but is this normal or calm before the storm.

  • Hello Scruffiest,

So sorry to hear about your mum and that the RCHOP wasn't working because your mum's cancer was too advanced. I can imagine you are rather confused by the hospital's prognosis but as many on our forum will tell you, it can be really difficult to predict how long someone may have so it is really good that your mum seems to be defying the hospital's estimates!

It is hard to tell whether this is normal or as you say a period of calm but try and enjoy these moments when her appetite and mobility are good to maybe spend some nice quality time with your mum. A good time maybe to plan a little treat for her? A nice meal or a little walk together if she is able to?

Wishing you and your mum well and I hope she keeps being in good form and spirits for a long time
