Hello - mum diagnosed with cancer

hi I'm on because today my mum was diagnosed with cancer she has had ultrasounds and ct scan she had an abnormal blood test which prompted the doctor to suspect ovarian cancer however when she met with her dr today she told her she has cancer across  its across her abdomen but they don't know if it's from her bowel or her ovary I was wondering if anyone else has any similar experience. To be honest it never made sense to me because I thought the Drs would be able to tell the ovary from the bowel but they said something about not getting a clear view of the ovaries. I know my mum and dad wouldn't have been taking in everything the dr told them because of the shock but I was wondering if this would make sense to anyone

    Hi Jayne, I’m very sorry to hear about your mum’s diagnosis. I can’t answer you on what I think it would be out of the two but it’s worth speaking to the doctor again to see what tests they are running going forward. Perhaps even go along to the appointment if you cn, that’s what my brother did with a pen and paper and he wrote everything down. Don’t be afraid to push rhem for more information. Keep us updated xx

    Thank you for getting back to me I did suggest that they take one today but I really don't think she was expecting to hear that news today actually my dad went with her but he couldn't get parked at the hospital so when she was told she was alone although he did join her after getting parked. My mum is quite strong but he is very emotional. I just feel like I want to know all the information so that I can at least do some googling or something just to feel useful, which I know must sound totally selfish I just want to help in some way. I actually feel kick I've been kicked in the stomache news like this actually feels like a physical blow. I hope your brother is doing well.x

    It must be a big shock for you all x he actually went on behalf of my mum who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It doesn’t sound selfish at all, I’m sure they will really appreciate it. It’s going to be a difficult time for you all and you will probably all deal with it in different ways. I tried to be strong when I was around my mum and do things to keep her happy like giving her manicures and pedicures and trying to take her mind off of it but remember you can’t be strong all the time and it’s completely ok to cry and let it all out. Let us know how it goes xx
