I have bowel cancer since March and my wife of 45 years have been caring for me, she comes to all appointments and is there every step of the way,  we have cried, talked but we all human, it is only natural to b upset and we try our best to lead a normal life sometimes with out success, All I can say is b there for her and tell her how much you love her I know my wife has been my rock and it effects you as well  don't be afraid to show emotions.
