Cannabis oil

Hi

My partner was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia 2 years ago, he's had chemo and had a bone marrow transplant, he went into remission for 6 months, but we got the devastating news last week that it's back. His consultant has said they won't do more chemo because it hasn't worked.

He has to have injections daily to help prolong his life.

I'm wondering if the cannabis oil will help or even cure him (I'm praying).

The one you can get in Holland and barret does that have the same affect as the non legal one? I know it doesn't give a high but could it be the low levels of THC are the important part of helping cure cancer (hope that makes sense)

Also is it a daily thing and how much do you need etc...

Thanks for your time

  • Hi Hux and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to read that your partner's acute myeloid leukaemia has returned after being in remission for 6 months.

Although research and tests are on-going there is currently not enough reliable evidence to prove that cannabinoids can effectively or safely treat cancer patients. You can read more about this on our science blog just here.

The one you can get in Holland & Barrett - hemp (or CBD) oil - is legal in the UK as it has extremely low levels of THC in it which means it doesn’t have any mind-altering effects. You can find out more about the difference between the two different types just here, but please be aware that taking this can be dangerous as it may interfere with any conventional treatment your partner is having so do make sure you discuss this with your partner's medical team before doing anything.

    Kind regards,
