Hubby stage 4 lung cancer

Hello everyone! My husband was diagnosed almost a year ago with Stage 4 lung cancer. Dr. said with treatment up to a year of life, without 4-6 months. He had chemo, maintenance, and immunotherapy. Now the cancer is in both lungs, spine, pelvic bone, and hip bone. No more chemo as it was making him sick. How long can a person live like that? I’ve asked, but have not gotten a clear answer. I know they don’t want me to worry about that, but I would like to know what to expect.

Thanks

  • Hi there ...

Unfortunately, it's really hard to give a time frame, as some live much longer then they say, some much quicker ... that's why it's just a rough idea ...

What to expect is also very hard .. because no two people are the same ... but if you call McMillan nurses on their free phone number they can give you more information. .. or the nurses on here but both work Monday to fri and it's bank holiday ...

If you want to read up befor then ... on the home page put "end of life signs " in the serch engine, and i think that will give you some info, but ive heard it can be a hard read... so be prepaired .. or wait till tuesday and call the nurses .. they are amazing and kind and know far more then us ..

This last journey is really painfull and heartbraking... but try to live in the day ... reach out for help, and I hope you have good family around you to hold your hand too .. there's always someone here if you just need to chat, or vent.. trust me, lots here have been right were you are now ..

Sending you a big hug ... Chrissie x
