Hi everyone. 

I was hoping someone may have some advice for me. I'm worried sick at the minute and not sure how I can help my dad.

In February dad went to the docs with bleeding. He has suffered in the past with piles so was told That s what it was. Weeks went by and cream after cream nothing helped . Then in March he was unwell. Was loosing weight and went back to docs who told him he had shingles. He suffered for weeks lost more weight didn't eat and the bleeding continued. Then beginning of May a lump appeared in his groin. The size of a tennis ball. So again back to docs who diagnosed a hernia. Was referred to have an ultrasound which an appt came for 19th July. We went, saw doctor . Had ultrasound for him to say. That's not a hernia. I looks like lymph nodes. Well refer you for an MRI scan. This was booked for 3rd Aug and he had an x-ray on his pelvis. We were told go home well send you results 4-6 weeks time. In the meantime he was in so much pain. Trip back to docs where this time they examined dad and said That s not piles, it's ulcerated. I'm sending you for general surgery you'll get a letter within 2 weeks. This was Tues 7th Aug.  On the weds 8th he was pacing the floor. Couldn't sit, sleep wasn't eating . I called in after work to see him and went home in tears. My dad was fading away . But what could we do? I went to work on the thurs morning. Rang mum. Asked how he was she said the same. So I rang the docs, told them I was bringing him down . I wanted him admitted wasn't talking no for an answer . I left work went and got him and after persistence I finally got a letter to take him to surgery assessment unit at UHW cardiff. We waited hours but was finally seen. She examined him. Which I thought he was gonna brake my fingers it was that painful. She told us she could feel a tumor . Right side of anal canal. That there were 6 lumps in lymph nodes. She admitted him that night to manage his pain. Said she thought he d been really brave as he d not expressed how much pain he d been in. (Stubborn git). They did a CT scan next morning and got the results back from MRI. The MRI said .. T2 N3 MX. 3.9 cm tumor and there s an 8mm shadow on lung. But they are not too concerned as could be inflammation.  Is this something else to worry about? So now we've had to wait until 29th which is weds so he can have biopsy from tumor to detect if it's in anal canal or bowel. His main problem at the minute is he can't go to the toilet. He's not been now for 8 days and confused and not coping very well.. Been back to docs again and they've given oramorph and movicol  . He won't eat as he thinks it's gonna bung him up more and I'm at my wits end.. So is mum.. Does anyone have any suggestions please...
