Hello Misty56; welcome to the forum.  Sad news about your dad.  If it is difficult for  you to visit him regularly you could keep in touch, say weekly for the moment or whatever you feel is appropriate, and play it by ear from there.  I realise it is easy to think of what we would like to do in these circumstances but usually money is a sadly restricting factor.  I imagine you would like to get together with him soon to talk this through but a lot depends on what you both want.  I would just say keep in regular touch; if you have a good relationship with his wife that will also be useful (just in case your dad isn't telling you everything).    Find out what you can about the stage of his cancer and what the doctors have said and monitor the situation as best you can.  And, of course, tell him how much you love him and will do whatever you can to help.  A very sad and difficult situation whichever way you approach it.  Annie
