Nasopharyngeal cancer

Hello my 33 year old son was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer in January 2018. He’s completed his treatment, but has now developed quite severe headaches does anyone have any experience of this?

  • Welcome to the forum Angsal.

I'm glad that your son completed his treatment for nasopharyngeal cancer in January although I'm sorry to hear he's developed quite severe headaches now.

Has he been to see the doctor about this yet? If not, it may be best to do so, just to be on the safe side. Plus it'll put his and your mind at ease.

I know you're hoping to hear from others who have had this treatment so I just wanted to put you in touch with [@Cole]‍, [@Aboutcarla]‍ and [@Smokie1756]‍ as they have experience of this and fingers crossed they'll pop by soon to answer your question now I've tagged them in this post.

Our cancer nurses are just a phone call away if you'd like to have a quick chat with them about this as well. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Steph

Thanks for the reply - we've been in touch with his team and they've brought forward his appointment to next Monday, and also suggested he see his GP, which we did earlier today. Whilst he was very helpful he referred us back to the hospital and things have not got a bit confusing - I'm going to contact the specialist nurse again, we just need some reassurance that this isnt something more sinister than a headache.

    thanks again

    A
