My pal is terminal.

Hi,

my friend and house mate has stage 4 lemon of hate in his brain. I’m helping best I can, just wanted to get a bit of support for myself as we/ he goes on this journey.

  • Hi there ... all you can do is probably what your already doing ... just being there ... it's scary for everyone who cares for him too .. it's one ell of a rollercoaster ride .. but having someone right there next to you means more then you'll ever know ... wish we all had a buddy like you ...  Chrissie x

  • Thanks Chrissie,

hes Latvian so not had a great time with the benefit system. Lot easier now McMillan involved.

Weve got most things rolling. Do you know where I can get some benefits advise?

Can I be his care person? More money for him. I work ft.

And help / advice about motorbility.

A link or something would help, ta

  • Hi there ...

McMillan have a benefits expert there ... they can hear all your problems and let you both know what you could apply for ... everyone's case is different ... it depends on many things ... and I'm just an average person with cancer so I can't help with that ...

But at least he will get lots of treatment and help ... Chrissie  ; ))

  • Hello and a very warm welcome to the forum, CaptainTrav.

I'm really sorry to hear that your friend is terminal. We're here to support you whenever you need to talk.

As our Chriss says, Macmillan have some brilliant guidance on benefits on their website: https://finance.macmillan.org.uk/benefits/benefits-online and you can also give them a call: 0808 808 00 00 (Monday to Friday, 9am–8pm).

I do hope you're able to get the help and advice you need for your friend.
