pallative care

hi

a relative of mine has just been diagnosed with stomach cancer.  They have problems with kidneys and have had to get two stents. the kidney functions have not went up so chemo is not an option. they have taken CDIFF from antibotics so they cant do a neprosphy as too big of risk of infection. they are going to be sent home with pallative care. what will this involve?

  • Hello,

pallitive care when at home, usually means carers/district nurses/nurses etc will come and visit your loved one everyday and it may be more than once. This means they can check their medication, pain, makesure they're comfortable and all around noticing any changes that loved ones may not notice. They're also there for support and guidance and to answer any questions. You will also be given a telephone number that if you're worried about your loved one with that being anything to change in them or you think they're in pain etc they will come out if requested/needed.

I hope this helps, sending you lots of love and strength x
