Mum has colon cancer

Hi everyone I'm new to this. My mum has colon cancer with metastatic in her overies and liver. We was told recently that there's 2 big ones now in her liver. She doesn' want any treatment so we're like living with a time bomb. I know she will start to go jaundice and the toxins will go in her blood stream, but I really don' know anything else. Can anyone give me some idea with what' going to happen so I can prepare myself really. Thanks

  • Hello Claireo1; welcome to the forum.  I am sorry to learn that your mum is so ill.  The question you ask is a big one and there is no simple answer.  So much depends on the individual and the rate at which the cancers are progressing.  Whilst waiting for someone who may be able to give you some sort of answer I am attaching a link to information on the MacMillan Cancer Support which gives you information about what may happen as the disease progresses.  Some of them may apply to your mum.  If you would like more specific information you can ring the nurses here (Freefone 0808 800 4040 Mon-Fri 9am-5pm); you can also ring MacMillan Cancer Support who will also be happy to answer any questions you may have (Freefone 0808 808 0000 Mon-Fri 9am-8pm).  My best wishes to you.  Annie
