My husband was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in March 2015. Radiotherapy, chemo, and subsequently a stem cell transplant. That lasted 17months before more chemo. Second chemo gruelling, and less effective, second stem cell transplant postponed.  More chemo. Then, last month a diagnosis of advanced prostate cancer.

I’m coping, just, but feel so alone. Anyone with any experience of two separate cancers at the same time?

    Hi there ... I've only had the one cancer (to my knowledge) but just wanted you to know your never alone ... There's always someone here to listen and offer their advice ... Even if you just want to vent about this horrid desease ... I'm sure you'll get others who can answer your question ... But please don't ever feel alone .. we do chat about alsorts , not just cancer ...

  • Welcome to the forum Isol8ed although I'm really sorry to read that your're having to content with two separate cancers.

    I have had a quick look through the forum and found a few members that have been in a similar situation to you and your husband. The first is [@Millykate]‍ who's husband was diagnosed myeloma and then lung cancer. [@Ramsey1]‍ has had to contend with cervical in to womb and ovarian in to pelvic and [@Sylvey]‍ who had tumours on their kidneys and ovaries. Some of them haven't been on the forum in a little while so there may be a delay in hearing back but hopefully they will pop by when they can to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

    Do let your GP or medical team know how you're feeling as they may also be able to point you in the direction of connecting with others that are looking after someone who has been diagnosed with two types of cancer as well.
