Hubby

Hi. 9 weeks ago my hubby was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 lung cancer which had spread to the brain. He had gamma knife surgery on his brain tumours which was excellent. 2 weeks after that he became very weak. He' in hospital at the moment with pneumonia which he is getting over nicely.  He' had 1session of immunotherapy but we just can' cope with the fatigue / weakness. He can hardly walk. The weakness is terrible.  Has anyone had this and will it get better. He has had 2 weeks of not even going to bed just laying on sofa.  I' welcome any info please .

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Ginola although I'm sorry to learn about your husband's diagnosis and for the reason you are posting.

I know you're looking for information on how to help your husband manage his fatigue so I just wanted to share some information we have about this on our website. You can also give our cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m so if you aren't able to get in touch with your husband's GP or medical team to discuss this then do give them a call as they will be more than happy to help.

Many members here have also experienced fatigue/tiredness when having their cancer treatment and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

I hope this helps Ginola and that your husband starts to get stronger soon.

    Best wishes to you both,
