Dad diagnosed with prostate cancer

My dad is a very active and healthy 69 year old,  He's just been diagnosed with T3 prostate cancer. His Gleason score is 7 and PSA level is 17. The hospital have booked him in for a bone scan next week, and his next consultants appointment is end of May. I am so worried.

    Hi Ange,

    When I was diagnosed at 66 yrs old, my gleeson was 6 and my psa was 70.. After recieving hormone therapy and raiodtherapy, my psa dropped dowm to 0.01, the lowest thay can measure.

    So treatment has greatly improved in recent years.So I hope you can take some comfort in my story.

    Thank you . If his bone scan comes back clear he has decided to have the prostate removed, I was favouring this option but after reading up on it I'm petrified. I do take comfort thank you
