stage 4 lung and liver cancer

hi my dad aged 77 was diagnosed stage 4 lung and liver cancer nearly 8 weeks ago,,he has now moved in with my wife and i,,he isnt getting any treatment,,he didnt know he had it it was through other medical problem they seen the cancer,,over the past 6 weeks he is continuing to put on weight all over and espically on stomach,is this normal.hes eating ok nothing to much more childs portions,,any advice would be very much appreciated,,hes only taking pain killers and sleeping tablets for his bad circulation in leg......hes put on nearly 13lb,,

    I know [@Annieliz]‍ replied to your other post so I'm just tagging them in this one so they can find out more about you.

    If you are wanting to find out if the weight he is putting on at the moment is normal given his diagnosis, l would recommend getting in touch with his GP as having access to his medical history, they'll be able to give you a more informed answer. If you'd like to have a general chat with someone medically trained about this in the mean time do give our cancer nurses a call.     Hi Jocko and Steph.  Sorry to have asked so many questions but it is very difficult to be helpful if you have no idea of the circumstances.    Would very much like to chat with you and I think Steph's advice re speaking with the nurses is good as the regular people who post here don't have medical training and have only their experiences to rely on!  Annie
