Small cell prostate cancer

my husband has been diagnosed with small cell prostate cancer after having a prostatectomy. He has now commenced on chemotherapy. He is 55. Tests show that his lymph and prostate surrounding tissue is were cancer free. However as this is a rare form of prostate cancer we have no idea what to expect. He has had 1 cycle of chem and is now neutropenic but not septic. He says he feels great and is still working full time. I’m in bits. Is there wife’s in the same position I could chat to?

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Mfarrell.

I'm sorry to hear that your husband has been diagnosed with small cell prostate cancer and that now you find yourselves not knowing what to expect. It's a good thing though that he feels well and is managing to keep busy with work but I can appreciate that the uncertainty of it all is taking a toll on you.

Hopefully, some of our ladies whose husbands have been through a similar experience will be along shortly to share their stories with you and give advice. In the meantime feel free to join the conversations already taking place here, our members are a very friendly bunch and I'm sure they'll be happy to chat with you.

    Best wishes,
