Hi Everyone,
My Mother in law has bowel cancer and I have been looking in to Colonic Hydrotherapy. Has anyone had this or does anyone know if it is allowed with this form of cancer?

Hello NicolaBod. Sorry about your mum-in-law. Colonic cleaning is one of those subjects that adherents feel strongly about although studies have found no benefits from it. I think it just plays on our fears of being "dirty" but that is just me! I have never tried it but am aware that some people enjoy it.
Anyway, to show I am trying to be fair I am attaching some information from the NHS website on the subject.
If you choose to go ahead make sure you use someone covered by ARCH (see attachment) as there are horror stories of unclean equipment and other bad things.
Could I add that there are websites from the USA praising this therapy for bowel cancer - I would be very wary of anything that posts a disclaimer at the bottom of the site telling you it has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration!
Best wishes to you and your husbands' families. Annie
