  • Hi Hyacinth,

I'm really sorry to read about the situation you and your wife currently find yourselves. Many members here know how tough and scary it can be watching their loved ones embark on their cancer journeys and I'm sure some of them will reply when they can to offer their support and advice.

I also wanted to put you in touch with [@Lyndee1997]‍ as she is in a similar situation to your wife and hopefully chatting to each other on here will help you both through this tough time. You can read more about Lyndee's journey here.

I hope this helps somewhat Hyacinth and I wish your wife all the best for her surgery once her biopsy and pet results have come back.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello there.  So sorry that your wife and yourself are going through this.  Very scary.  I hope you have other family members with whom your can share your worries and you can all support each other through this.  Your wife is in the right place, getting treatment to help as much as possible.  I would suggest - from my own experience of having a loved one with cancer - that you don't let your mind run forward with "what ifs" but just take each day as it comes.  That is enough to cope with at the moment.  Please do keep posting here if it helps  you to set out your hopes and fears.  Best wishes.  Annie

  • Hi Hyacinth01

Thank you for posting on our forum. I’m very sorry to read about your wife’s situation.

Waiting for tests results is understandably a very difficult and frightening time, and I am sorry to say that nobody will be able to take the stress and anxiety of this situation away. It really is about holding your nerve until the results come through.

Some people are better than others at trying to cope with the waiting, but unfortunately there is no real easy way to cope. Some suggestions are to try and keep yourself busy. I was wondering what support you have around you? I hope you have some close family and friends that you can talk to. Although they can’t change what’s going on, a listening ear will help in relieving a little of the stress of the situation. I imagine you are trying to not let on how you feel in front of your wife.

I hope you don’t have to wait too long for the results and your wife’s surgery goes well.

I hope this has been helpful. Do give us a call if you want to talk things over our number is 0808 800 4040. We are here from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Or if you prefer you are more than welcome to get back to us if you have any further questions.
