Helping Grandad

Hello,

My Grandad was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer last year. He has completed a chemo trial and although his tumor has shrunk he has been told his cancer will never be cured. He is currently having radiotherapy and taking tablets to manage his cancer. He used to be very active and loved walking, but now struggles to catch his breath and is unable to leave the house. He struggles to eat and feels lathargic.

I'm looking for advice on anything that can help my grandad feel better and more like his old self. Any complementary or alternative therapies that people have found or could recommend would be amazing.

I really appreciate any help, thank you.

  • Hi there ... what a lovely grandchild you sound ... well if your grandad isn't able to go out much now, maybe you could have a chat about things inside he would like to do ... play cards ... get the old albums out and he may like to go through them and share memories of when he was young .. music .. he may like a certain type of music ... watch films together ... and I'm sure your company will mean the world to ... hope you get other replies who may have other ideas too ..

    Take care ... Chrissie x
