Oh my dear Shellybells, I am sorry.  Has he just been diagnosed?  Please do tell us a bit more (if you want to do so; it may be that you just needed to say this to a wider group of people) .  I can well believe that you are in a state of shock especially if it has all happened very quickly.  When my son's father was diagnosed with lung cancer it was a terrible shock.  We had known for a few days he was not well but for whatever reason he had kept it to himself at first.  We imagined quite a few things that might be causing his problems but (perhaps deliberately but unconsciously) never added cancer to the list.
