So sorry to hear about your mum. Obviously every case is different but I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June, had a mastectomy & reconstruction in September & feel pretty normal again now. I'm lucky not to have to have any chemotherapy or radiotherapy as mine hadn't spread & wasn't aggressive but the outlook for a lot of breast cancer patients is good - it's usually very treatable. I'm 46 & have 2 daughters (9 & nearly 5) & telling them was the hardest bit of all. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you as it's your mum - big hugs - I hope she's not too ill with her treatment.
