    Hi Trev,

A warm welcome to Cancer Chat, the forum that nobody really wants to join.

I am sorry to hear about the pain your mother-in-law is having. It is not really satisfactory for her to have to keep returning to hospital for pain relief and, yet not know what the cause of the pain is.

It sounds as if you need to ask more questions. I wouldn’t accept that it is nothing to do with the cancer, when you have been told that it’s something to do with the bowel and the tumour. I am not a medic, but I would have thought that the tumour is a major component of the cancer. It might be worth asking if the tumour is getting any bigger and, whether the pain is being caused by an intermittent blockage.

If this is not the case, don’t give up, you can see how much it is affecting her, so keep on asking questions until you get an answer.

Please let us know how she gets on. We are always here if you want to talk.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine
