I can imagine his wishes are hard for you to deal with , as we want to keep people we love with us as long as possible ... but I can so understand when the body says enough is enough ... if we were young it would be completely different .. and I so admire people that do the treatment in our pension years ... every ones battle is personal ... but to have control to say yes or no is so important .... sending you both my thoughts ... Ask for some anti-sickness pills as feeling sick all the time is awful. It helped my husband when he was on treatment. Best wishes to you both.xx

Firstly l want to say sorry for your situation. My mum developed non small cell carcinoma in her left lung just over a year ago. My mum was 76 years old and wld have been 77 on 19th of this month. She was the fittest and most healthy 76 year old l new. She looked 60 at the most.. she smoked but stopped as soon as she fell pregnant with my big sister who is now 55 years old. So she has never smoked or been living in a house near a smoker for more than 55 years. She ate healthy she walked and still worked 3 days sometimes 4 a week. But yet still got lung cancer. At the time they told her it was contained to 1 lung and that 4 weeks of treatment and it would be cured. They said that they could not operate as the tumour was 6cm but sitting at a top bit of her lung next to her broncial branch and main artery and would kill her. So needless to say the treatment went ahead and on the 3rd week she got the feeling of being sick. She got very naseous. They put.her on a drug named metracoplamide. So her treatment finished and she was still.taking these tablets. As soon as she got home she started going of her head. All she could think about was the pain in her legs. She could not stop.using them and moving around. Her legs stopped her from sleeping or my dad. She was demented with them. We took her to hospital and they checked her bloods...nothing showed and we were sent home. This went on for weeks and then a doctor suddenly thought the tablets. It must be a side affect. And the looking into it more doctor confirmed the tablet was well known for this. They stopped them.right away and my mums legs got better.

Unfortunatly my mum passed away on 10th Aug as the cancer had spread all over her chest and up her kneck and shoulder. Even after a few ct scans they never noticed. It was my mum herself that new. It feels so terrible for me and my family. I hope it goes ok for you and your husband.
