Will she get better?

I have been caring for my mother who was diagnosed with colon cancer 2 years ago. After surgery she received chemo until 2 months ago when she started having headaches. She received radiotherapy to the brain for 10 days and was put on a course of cortisone for this. After the radiotherapy her health deteriorated very quickly, she can no longer walk and although she understands us she no longer speaks. She is 85. Any chance that she may recover or is this the terminal stage?

    Hi Alev,

Welcome to the forum. Most of us on the site are cancer patients ourselves, so we have little medical knowledge.

It sounds as if your poor Mother has been going through the mill.

You might find it more helpful to post in the "Ask the Nurses" section as they have the medical knowledge to answer your question. Alternatively you can phone the nurses Frephone on the number provided. They are very helpful and should be able to give you a reply based on their medical knowledge and experince.

I do hope that your Mother gets some good news when she has her scan - by the sound of things she deserves some.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine
