    Hi Kelly,

Welcome to the forum. We are all here to have someone to talk to. Now that you’ve found this site, I’m sure that you will find it very helpful. You can say anything you like to us. I think that with what we’ve all been through, we’ve either experienced it first-hand or chatted to others who have.

I am sorry to hear about your parent. It is so difficult to take it all in when the diagnosis hits you like a runaway train. You can contact us at any time. Can you give us a little more information so that we can offer you some support or information?

Your emotions are probably all over the place at the moment. Don’t worry about this – It is a perfectly normal reaction.

    Thinking of you both.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine,

Thank you so much for your reply.

Please don't be sorry this is something we don't choose and is something we have no control over. Yes my emotions are very high and i burst into tears at any given moment.

My Mum was diginosed with Cervical Cancer August 2016, this was aggressive and didn't respond to Radiotherapy or Chemotherapy. In November the same year she had a major operation to remove the Cancer but in doing this they had to remove her bladder and bowl. This has left Mum with a Urostomy and Colostomy bags.

After an appointment with her consultant not long after the operation we had found there was minute pin heads of Cancer that could not be removed but they were small so there wasn't any concern.

7 months after the operation my Mum began to lose blood and a mucus down below, after a MRI and CT Scan we have found that the Cancer has spread. The Cancer is now in her Lymph Nodes and spread to her Liver. She has 2 tumors on the Liver and its as agressive as back in August.

As she already received 75 shots of Radiotheraphy in the start, there is only 1 shot she can have, they will provide her with this final shot in order to stem the bleed and mucus as this causes her so much pain. They will also try Chemotherapy but they are not hopeful as this Cancer so far has responded to nothing.

My Mums consultant in August gave my Mum a life expectancy of 12 months, yesterday he said that they cannot put a time frame on this but they would stay with that which gives her around 2 months. I hope to god this chemo helps us.

Please can we just have a button to stop time for a little while?

    Kelly xx
