    Hi Karen,

My mum had breast cancer. She had a mastectomy followed by radiotherapy and had a reasonable quality of life for about 10 years. In the latter two years of her life she developed metastases in liver, lungs, bone  and brain and it was tough to watch her suffer when there was so little that I could do to ease her pain. That was twenty years ago now, but I’m sure that there are plenty of others on this site who have had a similar experience more recently and, who will be along to share their experience shortly.

Your partner is very young to be going through all this. I do hope that God gives you the strength you need to see this through. Remember that we are always here to lend an ear whenever you feel you want to unburden yourself.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine  xx

  • My partner had lung cancer with Mets to brain, kidney and liver. He had whole head radiotherapy which gave him back some quality of life, followed by chemo. You really just have to trust the medical professionals and never give up hope that your partner will be one of the lucky ones. Take care of yourself too as you'll need your strength to help him through this xxx
