  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Salvclai78.

I'm sorry to hear your mum has secondary breast cancer and now a collapsed lung. It can be very tough for those who are supporting their loved ones on their cancer journeys, sometimes more so than the one with the diagnosis, as many members here have found out and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and share their advice on how to manage with you.

Post as much as you need to Salvclai78 as our members will do all they can to help you through this difficult time.

    Best wishes to you both,

  • Hi

I know exactly how you feel although I was older second time around it was so much of a shock as we really thought it was gone but instead it was just sleeping until it could come again. My mum has been living with secondary breast cancer in her bones for nearly four years now and although it has been slowly getting worse over that time we just seem to be speeding up now as her bones are starting to break! You have to try and stay positive as the alternative isn't worth thinking about and take the moments you can. You need to make sure you have time for you too I'm very lucky I have a very good group of friends who I can use to escape cancer or talk about cancer too. Try and have a moment for yourself as the better you feel the more help you will be to your mum! X
