My beloved sister

Has just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and possible spread to bowel and lymph nodes. She is to have a biopsy next week to get a fuller picture. My sister has been my rock, and just supported me through brain surgery(non cancer related) She has always been so strong and ready to help anyone. Now she is the one in need of support and I don't know what to do or say. She has a  husband, children and grandchildren, so plenty of closer family than me. Our Mum died of the same in 1989 and we now know we are carriers of BCRA2, from both our maternal and paternal sides.

I'm just so unhappy for her.

  • I'm so sorry nobody has replied to you just yet, this is a really difficult journey to undergo. Since 1989, I'd like to think the treatment of cancer has advanced. I know your past experiences may influence a negative attitude but there is still hope and you need to focus on that. Make sure your sister knows it.

Be her hand to hold and her shoulder to cry on. She will be feeling an array of emotions during this process and I feel like the support and guidance you give her can make her feel somewhat better.

I wish you and your family the best.

  • I m also facing this situation..my sis also diagnosed lung cancer last stage...drs said...ur sis have jst six months for servival...no treatment is going on....whole family in very painfull condition...i can understand ur feelings....jst pray to God...God can do evey thing
