Trying to prepare

Hi,

My Mum got diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer back in August 2013. Up until now it has been managed through medication and regular doctors appointments.

Things took a turn a few weeks ago and is due to start her very first round of chemo. As I live at home with her...im only 25 just in case.people wondered....and i work full time. I want to prepare the house, her and myself for this next stage but Im at a loss. I've already scrubbed the place down and get rid of anything that can harbour bacteria.

Any tips and advice would be massively helpful.

  • Hi,

Just chill out and try to get some rest.

The main risk is from airborne diseases such as cold and flu, there's little you can do about those other than making sure everyone with cold or flu symptoms are kept away.

Your Mum may well need lots of sleep, another reason to limit the number of visitors. My Dad had to ask some of Mum's friends not to call round in a large groups as she wasn't able to cope with what was fast becoming a full WI meeting lol

    Best wishes
