Any advice please on helping a partner when they get good news (all scans showing NO cancer) but they feel guilty, sad and can't see any reason to be positive?
Thanks

That's awesome news but different people have different reactions maybe your partner needs a little time to their head around the whole thing

Hi Lisa,
Just give him time to adjust to the new reality, it may take him a while.
It is hard to imagine how he is feeling and what he is thinking if you haven't been through exactly the same situation. I haven't, but I have been through something similar.
Several people I know who have had cancer and been told they are in remission say they live with the almost constant fear that the cancer will return. It can overshadow everything, however much they try to force it into the background. The smallest thing can bring this to the fore so another cancer scare, even when it ends in good news, can be very depressing.
Just give him time, but if this lasts too long try to persuade him to talk to his GP.
Best wishes
Dave
Hi Dave,
Wise words. Thank you :)
