mum been diagonsed with secondaries bone cancer

my mum had breast cancer 5 years ago and was given the all clear. for the last year she had sever back pain along with tiredness, hair thinning, some weight loss -after pestering her doctors for months they finally agreed to send her for scans and theyve found secondary bone cancer in her spine hips and ribs.

tbh, the docotors dont seem to know much. they keep advising "people can live for years with bone cancer" - how long is year? and to be honest it doesnt help much when shes only in her 40s. im 23 with 2 younger sisters and we just dont know what to think.

  • Hi Hun so sorry to hear about your mum. I've just bee dx with secondary breast cancer in my ribs, spine, shoulder and liver. That was after a year of going to the docs and them telling me it was muscle pain. On hormone tablets went hospital yesterday and my markers are up a bit. Still trying to get my head around it. I'm only 45 with a marvellous husband and two wonderful kids aged 14 and 18. Your Mam will probably be more worried then you are, I know I am lol. We all have to stay positive, I know it's hard but that's how I got through it before, that was 8 years ago. Anyway, good luck, keep in touch and if there's anything you need to know just ask. Take care.xxx
