I am looking for comments on options for prostate cancer. My brother in law was just diagnosed and I wonder about surgery vs. radiation. Thank you for any commentary.
If it is contained go for davinci robotic surgery My hubby had this diagnosis and was a candidate for surgery. He went for it and had been highly successful and is cancer free One thing we didn't know and was told by our surgeon and radiologist is once it's raciadiated it is almost impossible to remove so if you had a recurrence they can't go back and do the surgery. This is what we were told by specialist do we assumed it was true. Recovery was quite easier with a few side affects but nothing major. Good luck.
Not knowing your brother in laws symptoms, makes it hard to give you any advice, but if this horrible desease is caught early, then he has a multitude of options, which range from surgery,to chemo, or hormone, or just keeping a watch on it.
Once he has been told what condition the prostate is in look at the different treatments there are on offer, do not rush this dissision take your time, get him to read all he can, low grade PC is very curable so do not fret.
