My lovely partner of 14 years has been diagnosed with locally advanced prostate cancer but we are awaiting for the bone scan to confirm this as it might be a T4 cancer.  We were told by the oncologist that a T4 cannot be cured but controlled.  His Gleeson score is 4+3.

Has anyone had prostate cancer at this stage? how successful are the treatments to control it?  

I am worried as my husband died of colon cancer 17 years ago and I find it very hard to go through this again.  I want to be strong and positive and be there for him, but I can't stop feeling depressed and tearful.  I feel a mess!
