Infection and in hospital

Hi everyone, not posted for a while as we've been happily plodding along and coping well until infection hit on Sunday morning. Phoned oncology helpline and they said to go to A and E. Spent 12 hours in there, first 4 hours lots of things happening, antibiotics intravenously, chest X-ray, blood pressure checks etc. Told he was going to acute medical ward and then just waiting for a bed. Fortunately  Brian was in a room and eventually transfered to amu. Really well looked after, nurses came from oncology and we had an appointment with urologist on Monday so went to that and he moved him to his ward. Own ensuite room with TV so again can't complain. Brian has had wonderful treatment and been so well cared for. He is coming home tomorrow after his appointment with the oncologist. We know this will probably happen again as he is stage 4 but have been reassured by the excellent care he has received and the way in which they let me stay and help him as he also has MS and has limited mobility and his hands have been affected by this infection. The staff know him well and they all remember him from 18 months ago when he had his nephrectomy, the consultant always says how sorry he is that the cancer has recurred and has told us to phone his secretary if he is struggling again. Wonderful, dedicated, caring people.
