Mother

Hi

I moved in with my mum, 5 weeks ago,she has a pancreased tumour, which has spread to the live, I promise I wouldn't  send her to the hospice , I have careers but there times aren't good and really no help but it's not there fault. And am finding it harder every day. And killing me as I am 62 myself, my husband works away , and my children do help, but they have  there own families, I have also taken unpaid leave and my friend said I could get help towards my keep.

Can anyone help

thank you

Sandra

  • Welcome to the forum Betty although I'm sorry to hear about your mum's diagnosis and for the reason it brings you here.

There are a quite a few members on the forum in this position who will understand how tough this can be and hopefully some of them will post soon to share their advice and experiences with you. You can also look for previous discussions that may be similar to yours by entering keywords in to the 'search forum' option above.

I know you mentioned being in touch with carers but I have had a look on our website and found some general information about getting help at home which may help as well. If you would like to have a read just click here. Also, if you have any questions about this or would like to finding out about other types of help that may be available to you do give our cancer nurses a call. They are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Stay strong Bettty and remember that we are here for you if you need us.

    Best wishes,
