Bowel cancer

My husband, after having surgery and chemo has just had his first CT scan and we are now beside ourselves with grief that it showed his liver has signs of secondary cancer.  Has anyone any experience of what we are going through right now. Any treatments that you have been offered. Just anything.

  • My husband to has been through bowl cancer which he had surgery for, we to were beside ourselves when they told us he had a secondary liver cancer which was to close to a main artery to operate on, however after 11 sessions of chemotherapy and a mri scan we were told it had shrunk and wasn't attached to the artery, so now we're waiting for surgery in a weeks time, just keep strong and don't give up. Will let you know the outcome. Big hugs xxx
  • Hi,thank you for posting. You must have felf as desperate as we do now but pleased for you you now have a light at the end of the tunnel. As the secondary cancers for us are in both lobes the best treatment for us is chemo to shrink the tumours and give us some extra time as this is not intended to be a cure..

We have both  retired a few years earlier, and while we had no ambitious plans, this definitely wasn't one of them. Any advice on keeping going, dealing with the anxiety.

11 sessions of chemo! How many weeks span between them? We're the manageable? He barely made it through the original 8 sessions !

Thank you again! You have given me a little bit of hope that all is not lost. X
