Medulloblastoma

My son was admitted to hospital on NYE with constipation. 3 days later docs found a brain tumour which was then removed 2 days later. We were in hospital for five weeks. He has weakness down his left side from the surgery which thankfully removed all the tumour.  Docs found cancer cells in his spinal fluid on further testing. We are about to start week 5 of 6 of radiotherapy. After radio we have a 6 week break before chemo starts. He is having uncontrollable rages at the moment which is so difficult to see and deal with. I wish I could take it all away for him.

  • A very warm welcome to Cancer Chat, Mammyof3. I'm very sorry to hear about your son's diagnosis, what a tough time for you all.

You've come to the right place to talk to others who are caring for family members; many of the people who use this forum will be able to understand just how you're feeling. Please feel free to take a look around and, if you feel you'd like to, join in with other discussions here.

I thought I'd include some information I found on the website about coping emotionally, which I hope might be helpful. You can also talk to our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040, if you'd like to ask any questions.

    Best wishes,

    Helen
