Helpless for mum!!

Mum has been given 3-12 month due to her lung cancer spreading and being too unwell for treatment. At the min she has a broken arm due to a fall and last week had radiotherapy on it as cancer cells were there too. We were told that it would get more painful after the treatment before she starts to feel some if any benefit from it. How long will the extra pain last for as shes really feeling it these last couple of days. If anyone has had radiotherapy on a broken bone your advice woukd be mych appreciated as im feeling helpess

    hello I'm sorry to hear about your mum it's a bit different but my mum had cancer in her bones and it broke her shoulder in 2 places and a fracture and 2 breaks in her elbow and multiple features and also had multiple features in her knee she was given radiotherapy to help with the pain and at this point she was already on high dose of different pain meds I know her knee felt a little better after 2/3 weeks sorry if it's not much help but here if you need a chat x

    i'm new to this forum and just read your post, I note the time you posted this- I'm going through a very similar circumstance.  My mum had a fall and cancer was found in her shoulder and following further tests they found stage 4 lung cancer. They've offered 1 dose of radiotherapy to the shoulder and 1 dose to her chest.  She doesn't want it. She just wants to die.  I feel like she's given up.

    we were told she has 'months'.

    I feel awful asking you but is your mum still with you?
