Newly joined need some advice

Can doctors tell a patient after just one radiotherapy treatment if the cancer return they can't help him? The cancer was early stage which was removed by surgery and was advised then not to have radiotherapy but a year later small cells were found in neck which were removed with surgery then six weeks of radiotherapy. Can doctors actually say that to patient if it comes back we can't help?

  • A warm welcome to Cancer Chat Nads although I'm sorry for the reason it brings you here.

Have you had the chance to discuss this with your medical team? If not maybe you could write down everything you have questions about or are unsure of and then ask them to explain the process to you. Our cancer nurses may also be able to provide some insight in to this as well. You can post a question in the ask the nurses section of the forum or give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope this helps and things become clearer soon.

    All the best,
