Need help coping

I met an amazing man last May/June and we have been together ever since.

He told me all about his previous experiences with cancer (colon & liver). Didn't deter me wanting to be with him.

We spend half the week together each week and then I am away as my job is 90 miles from him.

His last scan showed shadows in the pleura.

I can cope with listening to him and supporting him and trying to help where I can.

I am not coping when I have to travel back for work and I can't find someone to listen to me.

Can you help please?

Thank you.

  • Hello LisaP,

It sounds like you are a great source of strength and support for your other half but I'm sorry to hear you are struggling when you have to travel back for work and can't find anyone to talk to about what you are going through. I'm glad you've joined the forum as that is exactly what we're for and I hope you get to meet others soon who are in the same situation as yourself. If you are seeking out other channels of support I would recommend giving our cancer nurses a call as they will be able to point you in the right direction. Their freephone number is 0808 800 4040 and they are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope this helps LisaP and remember that there will always be someone here to listen when you need it most.

    All the best,
