Stomach & pancreatic cancer...help me to understand please..

Hi, my Mum in law has just been diagnosed with 'aggressive stomach & pancreatic cancer'. The info given by hospital is only around stomach cancer, and from what I read the prognosis is different for each separate type of cancer. What I am trying to find out is what stage it's at and an idea of how long we have left? Hospital have said there is nothing they can do in terms of operations,  offered chemotherapy but have explained that she will become extremely ill and will have no quality of life, therefore she has decided against chemotherapy.  Please can anyone tell me where I will find out more info on both cancers together, rather than separate?

Thank you

  • Hello DNA and welcome to the forum.

I'm really sorry to hear your mum has just been diagnosed with stomach and pancreatic cancer and can understand your need for information about her diagnosis. I have had a look on our website and have found information about both types of cancer here and here but if you're looking for information about them together I would recommend giving our cancer nurses a call as I'm sure they will be able to help with this. They are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on the freephone number 0808 800 4040.

    I hope this helps.

Best wishes to you and your mum,
