Lymphoma B-CELL

Unfortunately, my mother has been diagnosed with lymphoma, stage 1 , B-cell type.

We went through chemotherapy last year for 6 months and the PET-scan resulted very good.

But after 1 year, the cancer came back, at the same type, at stage 1.

The doctor said she needs to go through transplant, which was explained at your page (I am very thankful for that)

She does not have any symptomps yet.

I live in Albania and even though we have insurace, the transplant can't be done in Albania, but only in Europe, which we don't have insurance as we're not not even in the EU. This is the fate of almost every Albanian, we have to worry not only about health, but also for the money. The transplant costs 60'000 euro, not to mention the severe chemotherapy.

My mother is very sad.

I needed to talk to someone, as I feel hopeless and this felt like a  comforting forum.

Thank you and greetings from Albania.

  • Hi [@FB1992]‍

Sorry to hear about your mom and current situation. I know it's hard to go through with life knowing that a loved one has cancer and even more difficult thinking about the medical expenses. May I suggest to seek support from organizations/foundations. You may also create your own fundraising page and share it online. There are a lot of capable people who are willing to help.

As for your mom, stay by her side. Make every moment count. Be strong!

If you need someone to talk to, you can send me a message anytime.

    Keep on fighting!

    Blessings,

    Emzs

  • Thank you so much for the comfort. It is crazy how much this disease has spread. 6 years ago, cancer was very rare in Albania. Now, I hear everyday people dying and suffering and no one knows how to handle it. I read your story and you are a very strong person. Keep it strong, that way you can be a strong example for me and others. Wish you all the best! Blessings! FB
