My wife's battle with Small Cell Lung Cancer

Hi there, my wife who is 67, was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in May of this year. After 6 sessions of Chemo, and 3 weeks of twice a day Radiotherapy.  Plus 2 weeks of Brain Radiotherapy as a  precaution. Her tumour had shrunk, but is still there. She has now been given 3 months off, without treatment. Should we be thinking positive that all will be okay come January. Thankyou, Chris

  • Hello duorpofefiw,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I am pleased to hear your wife's tumour has shrunk and the treatment has been effective. I hope she enjoys the time off treatment and the Christmas break even though I can imagine it is a bit stressful for you having to wait until January to start treatment again and see how things are.

I hope you will meet others on the forum who have had a similar treatment pattern and also had three months without treatment as it does help to talk to others who have been in a similar situation.

    Best wishes,
