Mum has cancer

Hi there. My mum has just been told her cancer (no primary site... in the lymph nodes) has spread to most of the major organs .shes been in hospital and told on Sunday that treatment will likely be withdrawn. We were devastated. Then today her oncologist says it's worth a 2nd round of chemo. Total rollercoaster of emotions for her and us. Is this normal or will this be our 'new' normal?
