Scared not sure what to do.

My 2 grown up children both in there 40's have been diagnosed with cancer this year, within 3 months of each other.I am so scared for them both. We are still going though some test and waiting for results, but it is not looking to good for my daughter she could be stage 4.

  • Hello,

What you are going through is ... horrific. I can't imagine how you are feeling right now.  Feeling scared is only natural.  The waiting can be just as hard as dealing with the diagnosis.  I think it's important you talk to people.  I use Macmillan and Cancer research UK nurses etc to talk to.  My dad is linked to a hopsice as well who are amazing.  Once the diagnosis and treatment is in place a whole bunch of resources should open up to you.  I'm religious so my church have been a great strength.

I think ... right now ... all you can do is try to prepare yourself in any way you can.  And spend time with your children.   I wish there was an escape from the misery and fear ... i often think i want a holiday from my own brain just so i can rememebr what feeling happy and calm is like.

Remember to look after yourself.  You are important too and will need love and care.
